Robert Pattinson says without Twilight nobody would care about him, we beg to differ

Fair enough, Robert Pattinson reached ridiculous heights of fame thanks to his role as sexy vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films. We have to disagree, however, with the actor's comments that 'nobody would give a s***' about him if it wasn't for the franchise. We would, Rob!

Rob is busy promoting his latest film Bel Ami, but he can't help but be asked about Twilight.

He told the Herald Scotland that his vampire role has its benefits and its disadvantages.

Rob said: "Doing something like Twilight opens doors and it closes others. You can say, 'Oh if I was still unknown, then no-one would judge me,' but at the same time, nobody would give a s*** either."

We know plenty of RPattz fans who would disagree...

He added: "It's a weird little balance. And, most of the time, you are just completely guessing what people do, so I suppose doing scripts that you think are good is the way to go."

So what attracted him to his latest film?

"With Bel Ami, though, I guess there is something quite fun about going from Edward Cullen to playing a guy who pretty much abuses women to get money out of them.

"Edward so wouldn't approve! So, yes, I thought that was a funny irony."

We'll take a big dose of Rob in whatever films he does.
