Rita told the Mirror that 'there were talks' in the past few months however, she finally made the decision that the timing isn't right.

The singer says: “If I were to take on that role it would have to be at a point when I could give it my full attention,”

“I have so much to accomplish first and it’s kind of a full-time job being on X Factor. It’s not like a nine to five. It’s constant, for months.”

Yes, and also one of the most sought after jobs in showbiz.

Rita was a guest judge on the last series and clearly earned her stripes with boss, Simon Cowell.

We reckon it was the moment she gave Rylan Clark's audition a yes that caught Simon's attention.

In other Rita-related news, she threw a party last night and of course, omg! were invited.

The party was at Mahiki to celebrate her tour and loads of Rita's celeby mates (and us) turned up for a few drinks.

We spied Rita getting very chummy with Chipmunk and Wretch 32, Caroline Flack even turned up for a few cocktails with her pal Laura Whitmore.

However, Rita's BFF Cara Delevingne was notably absent from proceedings which disappointed us as we were really looking forward to seeing those eyebrows in the flesh.

And who knew Rita was such a Mr Motivator fan after she turned up in what can only be described as a rather fitting tribute to the fitness guru?
