The Daily Mail journalist was this afternoon on the receiving end of a sweary Twitter rant by the Bajan singer - after she slagged her off in an article on their website, calling her a "poisonous pop princess" and a "toxic role model".
Never one to to be a wallflower, RiRi hit back at the writer on the social networking site, launching into a shouty diatribe which called her accuser a "bitter amateur" journalist and a "menopausal mess".
Posting a (rather unflattering) photograph of Liz Jones on her Instagram page, Rihanna ranted: "LOL!!!! My money got a bad habit of p****ng people off!!
"If you sincerely wanna help little girls more than their own parents do, here's a toxic tip: don't be amateur with your articles, you sound bitter! What's all this about hair and nails and costumes and tattoos?? ....That sh** ain't clever!!! That sh** ain't journalism! That's a sad sloppy menopausal mess!!!

"Nobody over here acts like they're perfect! I don't pretend that I'm like you, i just live... My life!! And I don't know why y'all still act so surprised by any of it!! "Role Model" is not a position or title that I have ever campaigned for, so chill wit dat!
I got my own f***ed up shit to work on, I'll never portray that as perfect, but for right now it's ME!! Call it what ya want!! Toxic was cute, Poisonous Pop Princess had a nice ring to it, just a lil wordy! And P.S. my first American Vogue cover was in 2011...APRIL!!! #ElizabethAnnJones".
The article, which was published online this morning, saw Daily Mail columnist Liz Jones tear into the 25-year-old for being a bad role model for the teenage girls who idolise her.
In the opinion piece titled 'Pop's poisonous princess: Glorying in drugs, guns and sleaze, Rihanna's toxic role model for her army of young fans' she draws attention to Rihanna posting a photograph to 30 million followers of her with "two giant, phallic spliffs" in her mouth.

And she even gets personal - laying into the Bajan popstar for going back to her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown - and picking up on her gun tattoos, false nails and fake hair.
Are you #TeamRihanna or #TeamLiz?
Looks like journalist Liz Jones might be regretting ever putting finger to keyboard when it comes to global star Rihanna.
