Perez Hilton’s One Night in London: Review

We got invited along to London's swanky Electric Brixton to check out performances from Cher Lloyd, Paloma Faith, Joe McElderry and Eugene McGuinness over the weekend at Perez Hilton's One Night In London. Read our verdict below...

The bit that made us go wow...
Paloma Faith proved she didn't need any elaborate backing tracks as she performed a stripped back set with just a piano for accompaniment. That girl can sing.

The bit that made the hairs stand up on the back of our necks...
Joe McElderry proved just how versatile he is by switching from a rousing version of 'Don't Stop Believin' to a note-perfect rendition of opera favourite 'Nessum Dorma'. He even previewed one of his brand new tracks, which he has co-written. Joe, you're just showing off now *giggles*

The bit that made us think we were seeing double...
The screams of 'Jedward, Jedward!' from the audience left us in no doubt that a certain pair of twins from Ireland had sneaked their way in to check out the night's big performances. OK, so they hadn't exactly 'sneaked' their way in, afterall the pair are besties with Perez Hilton. Jedward watched the show from the vvip balcony and were joined by Jay from The Wanted, as well as two Backstreet Boys. A veritable boyband conference. We wish we could have gone along!

The bit that made us giddy...
There were three showbiz-themed Russian Standard Vodka cocktails on offer and we may well have sampled all three. Well... Perez isn't in town very often, so it would have been rude not to!

The (other) bit that made us think we were seeing double...
We had to rub our eyes in disbelief when Cher Lloyd made her entrance complete with big hoop earrings, a floral print and a tight bun. Cher looked a dead ringer for 'The Voice' judge Jessie J, though once she opened her mouth to sing there was no mistaking the former 'X Factor' star who's now setting the US charts alight. Go Cher.
