Harry Styles has joked that Miley Cyrus' VMA performance was reserved. Copyright [Rex]Well if that was her being reserved we’d dread to think what Miley’s wild side was like.

Harry made the dry quip last night at the New York premiere of One Direction film ‘This is Us’.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo! alongside band mates Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, the boys were asked what they thought of Miley’s show stopping/ jaw dropping set.

Using his best dead pan face and voice, Harry immediately replied: “Very reserved.”

Band mate Niall then added:  “I don’t get why everyone is sulking about her.”

One Direction had their say on Miley Cyrus' VMA performance. Copyright [AP]Agreeing, Louis chipped in: “I was shocked at how much coverage it got and I think she was shocked. I don’t think she even knew she’d get that much attention from it.”

However, Harry wasn’t quite done with ribbing poor Miley, dryly saying:  “She’s quite shy and I think it’s time she came out of her shell.”

Miley Cyrus may be a lot of things, but shy has never been one of them.

Harry Styles also noted Miley Cyrus' performance as 'family friendly'. Copyright [AP]Liam Payne also gave his two cents on the matter saying:  “My thought was that it was very nice. It was a nice performance. It was cute.”

Concluding the group’s thought’s on Miley gyrating in next to nothing while using a foam finger to do things a foam finger never should, cheeky Harry quipped: “ [It was] family friendly. You could watch it with your kids and your Grandma.”
