The passenger window shattered and the bumper came off Lindsay Lohan's car, which was written off.
Eyewitnesses told TMZ Lindsay Lohan and her assistant were bleeding and bruised but conscious.

Lindsay Lohan and her passenger were taken to the emergency room at Santa Monica UCLA hospital.
After spending a couple of hours getting checked by doctors, Lindsay Lohan was released from hospital after her car crash with an 18-wheeler, with her rep confirming neither Lindsay nor her assistant had any serious injuries.
Lindsay Lohan was then driven to the set of the Elizabeth Taylor movie she is currently shooting.
Sources said Lindsay Lohan refused to the let the car accident stop shooting on Liz & Dick, telling producers not to cancel Friday's shoot because of the car crash.
It is reported Lindsay Lohan has several visible injuries, including scratches and bruises, but has had them covered up as she wanted to continue shooting her film following her car crash.

Sgt Richard Lewis of Santa Monica Police said there was no sign Lindsay Lohan or the lorry driver was under the influence of alcohol, the Press Association reports.
He said they will investigate the accident to establish who was at fault, adding: "We're treating this as a regular accident."
