Leanne Mitchell wins The Voice UK final, despite being bottom with the bookies

Leanne Mitchell was crowned the surprise winner of The Voice UK on Saturday night.

Tyler James, Leanne Mitchell, Bo Bruce and Vince Kidd competed to win The Voice UK 2012 in the grand final on Saturday night.

Leanne Mitchell was bottom with the bookies but proved them wrong, winning the record contract.

Bo Bruce of Team Danny was favourite to win, followed closely by Tyler James of Team Will then Vince Kidd of Team Jessie.

However, it was Team Tom's Leanne Mitchell who was victorious on The Voice UK.

Each of the artists performed a new song to start The Voice UK final, with Bo Bruce singing 'Nothing Compares to You', Tyler James showing his falsetto on 'I'll Be There', Leanne Mitchell proving her huge ability with 'It's a Man's World', and Vince Kidd singing 'Many Rivers to Cross'.

It was then time for the four finalists to sing duets with their coaches on The Voice UK.

Danny O'Donoghue showed us his rapping skills in 'Read All About It' with Bo, Vince and his coach Jessie J sang 'Nobody's Perfect', and Leanne and Tom Jones belted out 'Mama Told Me Not to Come'.

Will.i.am and Tyler made quite the entrance for their duet of 'Oh My Gosh'. OMG indeed.

The phone lines were temporarily closed as the votes thus far were totted up, and Vince Kidd had to leave The Voice UK final after receiving the fewest votes.

The remaining three Voice UK finalists chose their favourite song from the live shows to sing again.

Bo Bruce sang Coldplay's 'Charlie Brown', which was fab, but we would have preferred 'Running Up That Hill' although the Kate Bush song was so full of emotion for Bo we can understand why she didn't.

Tyler James sang 'Higher Love', playing to his falsetto strengths.

Leanne Mitchell made a good choice with 'Run to You' and moved Jessie J and Tom Jones to tears.

Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5 were the guest performers on The Voice UK final.

Singing 'Small Bump', Ed Sheeran brought tears to our eyes and gained a lot of love on Twitter.

The four coaches (don't call them judges) also took to the stage as a rather interesting looking group to perform a medley of all their hits.

They were faced with rumours today that the whole panel will be replaced ahead of next year's The Voice UK, after the BBC show face dwindling figures.

But in the end it was all about Leanne Mitchell winning The Voice UK 2012.
