Lana Del Rey to perform on The Voice, our excitement is too much

Lana Del Rey is set to perform on The Voice next weekend *squeals and jumps around loads*.

American star Lana Del Rey, who is currently in the UK, was this evening confirmed as the star of The Voice UK's first results show.

The Voice UK's Twitter account posted: *Breaking news* Performing on the first results show of the lives is... @LanaDelRey! We're excited. She's amazing. Happy Friday. #TheVoiceUK."

With The Wanted announced as performing on Britain's Got Talent just hours ago, it looks like the rivalry between the two shows is heating up again.

'Video Games' star Lana Del Rey will perform on the BBC One show on the first of the Sunday night shows - next April 29.

And she will be hoping she gets a better reception than when she took to the stage on Saturday Night Live back in January with some very shaky vocals.

Lana was then panned by critics but has since picked up a BRIT award for Best International Female.

Scissor Sisters and Emeli Sande are also set to perform on The Voice, with Tulisa and Cheryl Cole reportedly hitting the Britain's Got Talent stage on Simon Cowell's request.

Today has been full of Lana Del Rey excitement after the US songstress appeared in the Live Lounge on Radio 1 this morning.

The uber cool singer did a take of Kasabian's 'Goodbye Kiss' before agreeing to a collaboration with Professor Green on air.

This weekend's episode of The Voice sees the final 40 enter the Battle Rounds of the competition.

Wannabe singers will be pitted against each other within their categories, leaving coaches Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones, and Danny O'Donoghue to make the tough decision over which of their acts they should let go.

Saturday night on the sofa, here we come!
