Kristen Stewart is the reason Robert Pattinson didn't take on 50 Shades of Grey role - EXCLUSIVE

They're constantly dogged by rumours of a bitter split.

But despite parting ways romantically, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are as close as ever - with Rob still coming to Kristen for career advice.

Kristen Stewart told Robert Pattinson that 50 Shades would be a 'disaster'.

Rob, 27, even asked Kristen whether he should take on the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey.

After being approached by the production company, Rob turned to Kristen for advice - at which point she told him it would be a 'disaster'.

A source exclusively told omg!: "Kristen told him 50 Shades would be a disaster for him.

"He's haunted by twilight and being too identified with that role, taking 50 Shades would mean a worse label for the rest of his career.

"Kristen told him that creatively, he shouldn't do it, but if it's about fame and money, he should. She told him he had to make the choice between the two, but warned that it would stick with him."

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson split earlier this year after she cheated on him last summer.

Despite rumours that Rob has 'never been the same' since Kristen cheated before their split last year, the pair are still very much in each other's lives.

The source added: "They're good friends and still leaning on each other and talking every day.

"Rob admires Kristen and if she had said 'go for it' he would seriously have swung his heavy schedule around to make it work."

Rob eventually turned the part down following Kristen's advice, much to the dismay of those around him.

Our source added: "He pushed it away after Kristen's advice, even though his manager was very much for it. His family didn't interfere, but he knew his mum wouldn't like it either."

Ryan Gosling
After getting robbed of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” title this year, (what the hell, Bradley Cooper?) it’s time for Gosling to rise up and claim what’s his. He was born for this role; he’s incredibly suave, he’s seriously dashing, and he’s just a good actor. If author E.L. James wants this movie to be the real deal, casting Ryan Gosling would be a bold move. less
