Kings of Leon cancelled their US tour this week after Caleb Followill walked off stage at their Dallas show over the weekend, and now reports suggest the band are urging the lead singer to check in to rehab.

The official line for the cancellation is that Caleb is "suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion," but Us Weekly reports the problems are deeper than that.

An insider said Caleb "drinks like a fish" and that the rehab stay would be "mostly for alcohol."

Another source has also said his drinking is "out of control" and it's a "dark demon" he's been trying to deal with for a while.

The band's rep told Us Weekly that Caleb is "under doctor's orders for vocal rest" and another source has played down the rumours of rehab, saying that all the bandmates drink and they have "never discussed [Caleb's drinking] as a problem before."

Jared Followill took to Twitter after the rehab claims were made, and in a possible response to the rumours, tweeted: "Inside sources are usually way outside the loop."

We hope whatever's happening within the band, they get well soon and get back to doing what they love.
