Katy Perry didn't pull any (fashion) punches earlier in the week when she premiere her debut movie Katy Perry: Part Of Me exploding out of a popcorn tub and wear sweet-wrapper pants, but she reached a different style note down under.
While walking the fittingly pink carpet in Sydney for the Australian premiere, Katy Perry opted for chic over cartoony with her wardrobe.

The singer looked sensational in a strapless gold sequined dress that came in just below the knee and worked it with clear Perspex heels with a sprinkling of silver embellishment.
Her darkened locks were worn to the side with large waves teamed with lashings of eye liner that showed off a glamourous Gothic look for the star.
While the showering of sequins added some superstar sparkle we can't help but feel a little disappointed with her efforts.
We wanted to see the star top her LA look and spin out of a film reel or something sensational and instead it all appeared pretty tame.
Katy, you've three days until the London premiere, you HAVE to do something amazing for that, pretty please.
As she busies herself promoting her movie, a documentary on her rise to fame and the past year including terrific highs, tantrums and tears, Katy has made time to speak about British boys.
She told The Mirror: "I still believe in love, most definitely. [And] I still like London boys except one."
