The 'Dawson's Creek' star looked stoic as she hit Chelsea Whole Foods in NYC with just her bodyguard yesterday.
American website TMZ claims that she and actor Tom Cruise, who announced they were divorcing last week, have called a truce on whilst their lawyers try to negotiate a settlement.
According to the gossip site there are NO plans for either side to go to court - unless the negotiations break down.
Apparently the lawyers are negotiating child custody, visitation, child support and property settlement.
Things had been looking like they were getting nasty between the two parties, with Tom's lawyers accusing Katie of playing the media.
Tom Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields previously attacked Katie for "playing the media". He said: "It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what's happening.

"We are letting 'the other side' (Katie and her team), play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have something to say."
Katie has been photographed most days since the announcement of the divorce last Friday.
And the actress has been taking her six-year-old daughter for ice cream, to musuems and for tea parties with friends in front of the media's glare.
Since the split allegations that it was Katie's committment to Scientology that caused the rift.
But a source close to the star has denied this, saying: "[Katie] was totally committed to Scientology. She had enthusiasm for it and would voluntarily and gladly participate in it when Tom was off shooting movies. This is not a fight over religion. It's being used as a way to hurt Tom."
