When Justin Bieber and Cheryl Cole both released albums this week, we knew the race to the number one position would be between these two and no other artists would stand a chance.

After starting strongly in the pre-order charts, it now looks like Cheryl Cole will have to make do with second position as Justin Bieber's Believe is set to take the top spot on Sunday.

Justin Bieber's Believe is outselling Cheryl Cole's A Million Lights by 3,000 copies in the mid-weeks.

It looks like Paloma Faith's Fall To Grace will take third position, with Amy MacDonald and Emeli Sande at number four and five and Carrie Underwood making it into the top ten with Blown Away.

There could be more heartache for Cheryl Cole in the singles chart too.

Maroon 5 are looking likely to take the number one spot away from Cheryl Cole with 'Payphone'.
