British actor Damian Lewis picked up the award for Best Actor last night at the 2012 Emmy Awards.
The ginger fittie won the accolade for his portrayal of Sergeant Nicholas Brody in the acclaimed series 'Homeland'.
The actor collected the award looking extremely dapper in his tux and joked about the swarm of British actors and actresses who had been nominated at the US ceremony.
In his acceptance speech the star said: "Hi everybody I'm Damian Lewis, I'm one of those pesky Brits, apologies."

He then joked that although he didn't believe in acting being judged he thought it was best he turn up just in case.
He said: "I don't really believe in judging art but I thought I'd show up just in case...turned out all right!"
Damian's 'Homeland' co-star Claire Danes was also honoured at the awards, picking up Best Actress for her portrayal of bipolar CIA operative Carrie Mathison.
The pregnant star was positively glowing in a yellow Lavin gown which she dubbed 'bump friendly' teamed with a pair of silver strappy heels and understated natural looking make-up.
The star and husband Hugh Dancy announced the pregnancy in July.
As well as the Best Actor and Actress gongs, Homeland also picked up a third award for Best Drama.
Fans of the show include President Barack Obama, something which Claire Danes nonchalantly described as 'way cool'.
