But it seems that Chris was more than capable of making friends all by himself.
And we must say, we never saw this showbiz friendship coming.
The 23-year-old singer struck up a friendship with none other than Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright aka Ginny Weasley.
Chris and Bonnie looked rather happy as they posed for a picture at the bash alongside one of her friends.
We wonder who approached who?
It would be incredible if Chris was in fact a HUGE Harry Potter fan- and from the looks of that grin on his face it wouldn’t surprise us at all if he was.
Earlier on in the evening, Chris had been the butt of one of Oscar host Seth MacFarlene’s most talked about jokes.
Talking about Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained, Seth said: "This is the story of a man fighting to get back his woman, who's been subjected to unthinkable violence. Or as Chris Brown and Rihanna call it, a date movie."
Seth was of course referring to Chris Brown's infamous assault on Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards.
It seems that Chris wasn’t fazed by the joke, however, partying into the wee-hours with Hollywood’s elite.
Rihanna spoke out about her relationship with Chris last week, stating that he wasn’t the monster everyone made him out to be.
She said: “He's not the monster everyone thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart.
“He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him - he always makes me laugh."
