We were wondering when Cheryl Cole would decide to directly respond to Cher Lloyd's comments about her singing abilities - and she's finally had her say.

Now Cheryl has hit back at Cher's comments. She told GQ: "It was a slap in the face."She's new. She needs to learn a lot. I went through hell to get her on that programme. Everyone says stuff at the beginning of their career that they will learn to regret."
She said: ""It's disappointing because I fought for her. Maybe I didn't teach her as well as I thought I had."
Aw. Sad face.
Cher Lloyd said on national radio that Cheryl Cole would struggle to sing live without 'a nifty little button to press,' referring to autotune.
Cheryl Cole tweeted this message after Cher Lloyd made her initial comments / TwitterCheryl responded cryptically via Twitter, saying: "Be Careful who you kick on your way up. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down. #unappreciationisugly"
Cher went on to apologise on This Morning, saying the comments were 'just a little joke'. She continued: "I think it all got blown out of proportion. I just want to say sorry to her if she found that offensive. But at the end of the day, she is the person who got me to where I am today."
We think Cher and Cheryl should meet up for a girly coffee and give each other one of those famous hugs.
