Britain’s Got Talent judges line-up confirmed. Simon Cowell gets his wallet out

Britain's Got Talent is all systems go with a new line-up of four judges: Alesha Dixon has left Strictly Come Dancing to join fellow newbie David Walliams plus Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell.
Simon is reaching into his own pocket for the latest series, doubling the prize money to £500,000 by adding £250,000 into the pot. Last year, Jai McDowall had to make do with £100,000.

The music mogul is returning to the show because he missed us. Aww.  Let's not be too flattered, though, as Simon said: "I miss Britain, and I miss the British public, and I miss judging them."

It seems BGT has a healthy budget, as Alesha has apparently been offered £350,000 compared to her rumoured £100,000 salary on Strictly. David's thought to be on a whopping £800,000.

We're especially excited about David joining the panel, and he's started as he means to go on (we hope) by joking: "I am so thrilled to be the new Cheryl Cole."

We're also hoping for a fashion-off between Amanda and Alesha.

Amanda is thrilled to have a female companion, tweeting: "Thrilled I can finally comment! Love the new line up of BGT! I plan to have a lot of fun and finally get an ali in the gorgeous Alesha!"

BGT's first audition is in London on January 22, with the new series hitting our TV screens in the spring. Bring. It. On.
