The ‘Next to Me’ singer has already picked up a string of trophies over the past year and could potentially be adding three more to her already bursting cabinet.

Emeli has been nominated four times for this year’s BRITs including Best Female Solo Act, British Album of the Year as well as two nods in the Best British Single category for ‘Next to Me’ and her collaboration with Labrinth on song ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’.

One Direction have also been honoured by the awards, picking up a nomination for Best British Group alongside Alt-J, Mumford & Sons, Muse, and  The xx.

After being snubbed by the awards last year, Olly Murs was celebrating tonight after picking up two nods in the Best Solo Male Act and Best British Single categories.

Taking to Twitter, Olly was clearly ecstatic about the recognition.

He tweeted: OH.MY.DAYS! Nominated for BEST BRITISH MALE @BRITAwards me & lads just all did massive CANNONBALLS into the pool.. #closetotears #geek

Rita Ora should also be a very happy lady, being nominated for Best British Breakthrough as well two nods in the Best British Single category for ‘RIP’ and DJ Fresh collaboration ‘Hot Right Now’.
