Go backstage at Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert

After their big performances, music stars met the Queen backstage at the Diamond Jubilee Concert.

Queen Elizabeth II took her seat in the Royal box outside Buckingham Palace half way through the Diamond Jubilee Concert, after Prince Philip was taken to hospital with a bladder infection.

The Queen got to meet all of the performers she missed as well as those she saw singing on the special stage, however, when she headed backstage after the Diamond Jubilee Concert.

Dressed in a gold number, the Queen was full of smiles as she shook hands with all the global stars.

Ed Sheeran tweeted after his encounter: "Well that was fun!" and "What a random night" no doubt sparked by: "Quote of the day from Grace Jones... " hello ed, you look like my granddaughter".

Cheryl Cole, who sang a duet with Gary Barlow at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, was starstruck.

She tweeted a picture of her and the Queen on stage with the caption: "This image will live with me Forever.. I could never have dreamed of this moment.. #GodSaveOurQueen #Honoured"

The Queen also chatted with JLS, who performed a couple of songs earlier in the evening but kept their tops on. Oritse tweeted: "I absolutely frikkkkinn LOVED that!"

The Queen shook hands with all the big stars at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, from Elton John and Paul McCartney to Grace Jones.

Judging from the big smile on the Queen's face, it seems she didn't mind the fact that a hula-hooping Grace Jones had shouted out happy birthday during her set on stage earlier *cringe*

Kylie Minogue guided the Queen around the backstage area, introducing her to all the singers.

The Australian pop star performed in a sexy Pearly Queen outfit earlier in the evening, and was joined on stage by dance troupe Flawless for her fab medley set.

The comedian kept his outfit on backstage, much to the Queen's delight by the look of it.

There were several Sirs backstage at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, including Tom Jones.

What a fantastic concert to honour a wonderful monarch.
