His SUV almost flipped over during the incident, which the truck driver reportedly told police was caused because his load shifted and lost control of his vehicle. 50 Cent's driver was also taken to hospital.

A spokesman for 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) later released a statement to ABCNews.com saying: "He was taken to New York Hospital Queens where he was treated for minor neck and back injuries. He was released this morning and is doing fine."

Bullets hit his hand, arm, hip, legs, chest and cheek, shaving off part of his gums and leaving a hole between the rows of his teeth. He spent 13 days in hospital and five months in physical therapy.
