1D Zayn EXCLUSIVE: We’d be fourth X Factor judge

This year's X Factor panel is still a judge short and One Direction's Zayn Malik reckons the band would definitely be up for the role if offered it.

We exclusively chatted to one fifth of One Direction Zayn Malik and he told us the band would be very up for taking their place alongside Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa.

In one chair. Obvs.

Zayn told us exclusively: "I'm sure [five One Direction boys in one chair] would be very interesting to watch actually.

"We haven't been approached for that yet. If we do get approached I'm sure we'll try and sort out that we're all sitting in one chair, yeah."

Err excuse me Mr Cowell! Forget Geri Halliwell. Sniggers.

Talking about fellow X Factor stars Little Mix, Zayn told us they have given the girls some advise.

He said: "Obviously I see Perrie quite a bit. And the only piece of advice I can give her is to kind of just work hard and hope for the best.

"That's what we did and that's pretty much all there is to it. Yeah and be nice to people."

Talking about touring with Xtra Factor presenter Olly Murs, Zayn told us that he better watch out as they were plotting some seriously good pranks.

He said: "He should be worried about the pranks cos there are gonna be plenty of them."

Zayn, 1D boys Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, are about to hit the road in America with Olly Murs.

But there's a little taster of the tour in their brand new Live DVD 'Up All Night: The Live Tour'.

Zayn told us: "We wanted to do it because we realised there were a lot of people who couldn't get tickets that had queued up for hours.

"There's loads of backstage content as well so people can get an idea of what work goes into the tour, rather than just the finished product."

Asked what his fave part of the tour was, the Northerner said: "I loved being on stage performing. And actually just chilling with the guys backstage is always a good laugh. Before the show and after the show. Just such a good vibe."

And he got a bit mushy about the 1D boys too. He said: "It is a lot like an on-the-road family. You do become really close to the people that you're working with. Especially the band members because they're the only four people in the world that understand what you're going through. You have a special bond."
