Tonight, The X Factor semi-final result was completely decided by the public.
The pressure surrounding the fact that there was no sing off was definitely high among all of the acts, and the public seemed to feel the same as over 1million voted.
Dermot announced first that James Arthur was through to next week’s final. The cheers from the crowd were overwhelming, and it seemed the right decision as Gary described James’ rendition of ‘The Power of Love’ last night as “the performance of the series”.
Next to find out his fate was Christopher Maloney. The boos from the crowd when it emerged that he will be competing in next week’s grand final were evident. His performance last night of ‘Just Haven’t Met You Yet’ last night, received unanimous negative comments from the judges, so the result seemed a bit of a shock.
The final two to find out their fate were Jahmene and Union J. As the audience chanted, “Jahmene! Jahmene!” the tension built, and Dermot finally revealed that it would indeed be Jamene joining James and Chris in the final.
The disappointment from the Union J boys was evident, but they admitted, “This has been our dream to be on this show” and “I can’t describe how amazing it has been”.
Do you think the right act left the show tonight? Who will you be voting for in the final?
