Singer Simon Le Bon is devastated about the cancellation of the remaining dates on Duran Duran's world tour, insisting it "leaves a big hole".
The Rio hitmakers axed the final run of concerts on their lengthy global trek earlier this week after keyboardist Nick Rhodes fell ill with a mystery virus which left him "entirely exhausted".
Rhodes reached out to devotees on Thursday to thank them for their continued support, and now frontman Le Bon has revealed his own regret over the turn of events.
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page on Friday, he writes, "It's taken a few days for me to come to terms with the premature ending of our tour. After nearly twenty months on and off the road... it leaves a big hole.
"It's terribly hard on many of our followers who've organised their time, to come and see the closing of the tour. We all feel your frustration. We all thank you for your understanding.
"Of course, the no. 1 concern for all of us, is Nick's recovery. I can tell you that all the support he's receiving is very much appreciated."
