New American Idol judge Mariah Carey will "fit right in" on the show, host Ryan Seacrest believes.
The host, who was speaking to former American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez when she told him she wasn't returning to show earlier this month, revealed to the Today Show's Matt Lauer, that he spoke to Mariah last night to welcome her to the show.
He said: "I actually called her last night and I said, 'So welcome to the family'." I said, 'What are you going to be like on the show? She said, 'You know how I am: I'm very honest. I say what I'm thinking.' I said, 'Great. You'll fit right in.'"
We're sure she will after the New York Post reported on the news that the star has given normal rider requests ahead of the show starting.
A source said: "It's all standard stuff, nothing out of the ordinary. It's not like they'll need to put a new roof on the building. It's standard lists, whether it's for water, soda, veggies, snacks. It's all fairly normal.''
The host also spoke of the rumours surrounding Steven Tyler's replacement on the show.
He continued to tell Matt: "I've heard rumours of Brad Paisley, I've heard rumours of Pink, I've heard rumours about all kinds of people. And the way that it works is we read about the rumours and about an hour before it's confirmed I get a call saying, 'Guess who's on the show.'"
We can't wait to see Mariah on the show! Can you?
