It looks like Louis Walsh was right - Christopher Maloney really is a karaoke singer! Onlookers were stunned when X Factor finalist Christopher Maloney went on the rampage in Manchester ahead of last night's final.
According to insiders at the Mirror, Christoper ignored the bosses' orders to rest and left his hotel at 10PM on Wednesday night to go partying with his mates. He met drag queen Lee Star at Canal Street's Via Bar, where he drank bottles of Veuve Cliquot and a drink called 'chambull' - champagne mixed with vodka and Red Bull.
A fellow party-goer revealed: “Chris came in with a group. The drag queen approached them and they all drank and laughed together. Chris posed for a picture with him and they continued drinking together for about an hour.”
Chris was happy to pose with the drag queens, but is believed to have ignored any fan photo requests when he got up on stage to belt out some karaoke classics, leaving his followers hurt and upset.
“He sang ballads for about 15 minutes. People were joking that he wasn’t very good. He made sure he was the centre of attention. But door staff stopped people taking pictures after he said: ‘Don’t take pics of me on the karaoke, people will take the p***’.”
A source at the ITV show told The Mirror "Chris, James and Jahmene were given strict instructions not to go out by X Factor staff last week as they were worried the lads would get heckled or get into trouble.
"The contestants knew they were only allowed to go to rehearsals or events set up by the team, who wanted them to keep a low profile."
"So bosses were furious when they found out Chris was out until the early hours, drinking alcohol and being rude to fans."
Despite being the 'wild card' fan powered act of the show, Chris lost out in last night's final, receiving fewer votes than James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas.
