Olly has been co-hosting the show with Caroline Flack, 33, for the past two years but will reportedly be bowing out of the spin off programme to focus on his music career in the US.
Nick would a great fit for the Xtra Factor thanks to his already close bond with co-host Caroline Flack and well known affiliation with X Factor alumni member Harry Styles.
However, show bosses are still keeping tight lipped about who will be stepping into Olly’s shoes.
A spokesperson for the show said:"Details for the new series have yet to be confirmed."
Other names that have been linked to the role includes last year’s contestant Rylan Clark.
The 24-year-old singer entertainer has already expressed an interest in the role, deeming it his ‘dream job’.
“It's the dream job, especially coming from the show. He previously said: “Every series needs a bit of Rylan style.
“Not sounding big-headed but if you talk about X Factor from last year there's three whose names you will bring up and I'd like to think I would be one of them.”
Meanwhile, changes to the main show’s judging panel look ready to change with Sharon Osbourne reportedly now in ‘pole position’ to return to the series and replace current judge Tulisa.
